BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY WEEKEND EVER!

I turned 25 on June 17th. Friday June 19th kicked off, the coolest party weekend of my life! This blog should be prefaced by this: I HAVE THE BEST FRIENDS IN THE WORLD! And I MEAN THAT!

I hope this blog makes sense, I’m typing it as I’d speak it, so please excuse the grammatical errors and longwindedness!

Friday Night: My friend Garrett from high school threw me an awesome pool party at his friend’s (Kelly) house. Pool parties are always fun especially when they feature copious amounts of booze, half naked chicks, chicks who don’t get mad when you just throw them in the pool fully clothed, cotton candy machines from crazy neighbor lady (possible lezzy), and two Jacuzzis! The party was off the hook, I got so hammered that I almost killed myself passing out in the Jacuzzi! I was moved to an armchair, and at a certain point in my drunk state of mind decided it would be a great idea to walk to my car and pass out in the back seat! The dumbest thing is that I passed like 8 couches on the way to the car!!! Worst hangover in a long time Saturday morning, mid-morning, and afternoon! I swear I felt drunk until 6p on Saturday!! The party was awesome though and I want to thank Garrett for coordinating and Kelly for hosting… Very Cool!

Saturday Night: The plan for Saturday night was to go to my favorite pizza place/bar in San Diego and just hang with friends but what transpired was the coolest birthday party a guy could ask for! First off, shout out to Jon (The owner of BASIC) for hooking up the VIP, it couldn’t have been cooler! The party had several elements that will make it unforgettable. 1) ALL OF MY FRIENDS WHO MADE IT OUT! When I first reserved the VIP party area, there was a question of how many people were gonna be at the party (to justify the party area, and to leave buffer room on regular admittance to the club to accommodate my peeps). I told Jon, “I don’t know how many people will show up, maybe 20 or 30?” Boy was I wrong, at a certain point there had to be at least 85 to 100 people there just for the party! The coolest part to me was the wide range of friends who made it out, from childhood friends to current colleagues and comedy fans alike! I could compile a list of names off memory, but I would inevitably forget some people and that’s not cool! 2) Jeremy Everly and DoDo Tran went above and beyond to make this party special. They are the best friends a guy could have! Jeremy coordinated and planned the entire party with Jon (If you were at the party and you want Jeremy to coordinate your party, I can give you his contact info, I’m sure he’d hook something up for a reasonable price! Hahahaha). Jeremy got to the party before anyone else and got bottle service arranged, set up t-shirt area (MalHall.com “Laugh” shirts will be for sale soon), hid the surprise birthday cake and awesome birthday gift to be revealed later. It should be known that Jeremy coordinated this entire party in less than 30hrs! Jeremy got everything situated at the club and at a certain point brought out the cake, which was one of those weird cakes with my picture on it as the decoration! Couple thoughts on that, ONE, you know you’ve arrived when you get a cake with your face on it for decoration, TWO, its probably the creepiest thing you’ll ever see/eat in your life! The cake and everyone singing happy birthday was very cool. The next surprise Jerethy (Jeremy and Dorothy combined) arranged was a champagne toast with all of my friends, and a presentation of a shadow frame containing all of the local articles I’ve been featured in and a cool headshot and nameplate! Completely unexpected!
All of that was topped off by the DJ playing our “Tite Crew” theme song (Kanye- Good Life) and the night was complete! “Better than the life I lived //when I thought I was gonna go crazy//and now my grandmamma aint the only girl calling me baby!// if you're feeling me now then put your hands up into the sky//and let me hear you say hey, hey, hey//I’m good!”

Thank you to everyone who came out, please email me any pictures that you may have of the event, so I can put them in my video montage! Mal.comedy@gmail.com
